General Planning for GIS Services
Florida DOT, District 7
Grimail Crawford has served as the general planning consultant for GIS Services to Florida DOT, District 7 since 2000. We assisted the client with truck facility address matching, corridor study analysis, TAZ development and maintenance, sub-area analysis, traffic model analysis, map generation, work program analysis, crash location mapping and analysis, and more. Among the myriad of GIS services provided, highlights include:
- Data collection and analysis on socio-economic and employment aspects
- GIS data collection and database development
- Intranet mapping services for bicycle/pedestrian and drainage
- LRTP GIS support and analysis
- DRI review and mapping
- On-site GIS support and individualized training

Fixed Transit Guide-Way System
Pinellas County MPO Mobility Initiative
Grimail Crawford was awarded the $2.5m contract to support the MPO with incorporating a fixed transit guide-way system within the County’s long-range transportation plan. For this project, our GIS group prepared maps and tabular analysis results in support of alternative alignment analyses. In addition, 3D visualization demonstrations were developed and other data collection and processing tasks were performed to support the transit initiatives for the county. |

General Planning for GIS Services
Florida DOT, District 3
Grimail Crawford has provided the Florida DOT, District 3 with GIS services that will continue the development of a district-wide transportation planning database. We assisted the client with the coordination of transportation modeling and mapping-related efforts, and presented geographical information in a way that is readily understandable and consistent among applications. In support of these efforts, the Grimail Crawford team helped the Department with:
- Evaluating the mapping projects and applications used in transportation analysis across the state and within the region
- Coordinating with state, local, and private entities in order to establish a consistent mapping and analysis element
- Developing and providing workshops and seminars to members of the district planning staff in the use of the transportation planning database
- Developing data queries and data analysis and preparing maps and reports involving the database
- Developing new tools and procedures and customizing existing ones for base map applications
- Collecting any additional information
