Pinellas Mobility Initiative
Florida

For this project, Grimail Crawford evaluated multi-modal alternatives in Florida’s most densely populated county. The options evaluated included fixed route bus service, bus rapid transit, and fixed rail guideway. Technical elements included FTA New Starts Analysis, ridership forecasts, capital and operations and maintenance costs, candidate systems evaluations, and public involvement. The project concluded with a recommendation to move forward with a small-scale, fixed guideway route and a larger-scale, bus rapid transit system. The project also involved a large public involvement program, including neighborhood meetings and presentations to civic groups, government officials and special interests. > Back to Top

Citywide Review of Transit Services
Clearwater, FL

Under our miscellaneous services contract with the City of Clearwater, Grimail Crawford recently completed a citywide review of transit services. This study was intended to review transit services currently provided by the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) within the city to ensure that residents and businesses were adequately served by PSTA bus routes. One particular concern was to ensure that PSTA routes effectively serviced new developments and/or redevelopments occurring in the city. The study has resulted in increased dialogue with PSTA, and amendments to specific routes to better serve businesses and economic development initiatives. > Back to Top
